Davin Deshon was reported missing by his daughter in January. Two days after, Davin was found lifeless inside his car.
But Davin was not alone inside his car when the ordeal happened because his beloved dog, Buddy, was there too. The deputies of Placer County said that Davin might have died while trying to drive through an extreme snowstorm.
While Davin was lifeless when he got rescued, Buddy was in good condition. Despite this, Buddy looked troubled when the police officers began bringing his master’s body outside the car. It was a heartbreaking scene as the dog tried to lick Davin’s face, attempting to wake him up.
When Davin’s family learned about his death, they got distraught. However, they found comfort knowing that Davin did not die alone because Buddy was there beside him. Davin’s daughter, Shona, knows Buddy because the latter is her dad’s dog for almost a decade.
After the rescue, Buddy was brought to a clinic for stress debriefing. Buddy also underwent a series of tests to check whether he is in good condition or not. Buddy’s story loyalty reached many people and warm messages started to pour in for the dog. There were also good Samaritans who asked who would look after Buddy now that Davin is dead.
When the police officers asked Shona whether she would adopt the dog, Shona refused. This is because the apartment that Shona is staying in does not allow pets. This broke the heart of the police officers, but fortunately, many people volunteered to adopt the dog for good.
It did not take that long before the police officers find a new home for Buddy. Lisa Lomeli and her husband were the lucky adopters of the dog. According to Lisa, they are glad to be given the opportunity to take good care of a loyal dog like Buddy.
