A concerned individual contacted DAR Animal Rescue after spotting a white dog hiding under a bush. He said the pup was motionless and was probably injured. So quickly, Ermioni, the founder and lead rescuer of the group, rushed to save the dog.
Once at the site, the rescuer immediately started searching for the dog. A civilian pointed where she could find her. Bystanders even told her that the pup first appeared in the area two days ago and she went straight under the bush and never left the spot.
Ermioni didn’t know exactly what the pup’s condition was but she knew she had to act fast. She gently picked her up and loaded her into her car. She drove her straight to the animal clinic and the vets attended to her right away.
The dog, which Ermioni named Pippy, later on, was in so much pain. She walked with a limp so the vet team believed she had a bad leg. They did an X-ray that proved their suspicion was right. The poor pooch had a dislocated bone.
Pippy had to stay at the animal clinic for several days. She took her time recovering. Once her leg healed, she left and joined Ermioni at the rescue center.
At the DAR Animal Rescue shelter, Pippy met a lot of new friends. She was very shy at first but she soon realized everyone was friendly and loving. She slowly incorporated into the pack and soon started playing with the rest of the rescue dogs.
No one knew exactly how long Pippy was in agony. But now that she’s with Ermioni, she will never be in pain and will never be alone again.
DAR Animal Rescue will take care of Pippy until she’s ready for a forever home. For now, she can enjoy going on walks in the morning and playing with her rescue friends all day long.
