Clare Tredea of Milton Abbas, Dorset lives with her family and three of their pet dogs. One of them was a Terrier Mix named Teazle, who’s a fun-loving pup and loves to chase squirrels all the time.
One afternoon, Clare and her three pet canines went out for a walk in the woods of Delcombe when Teazle spotted squirrels and chased after them. At first, she didn’t hesitate. She knows that her furry companion had short legs and couldn’t run too far. But when Teazle didn’t come back, Clare started to worry and told the rest of her family.
The family headed into the woods and began to look for Teazle. Clare’s husband named Andrew, her son Jack, and his partner Emma, kept searching and called her name a couple of times until 10 in the night still, there was no sign of her. But they didn’t want to give up on her. They decided to wait until the next day to look for Teazle.
They went back to the woods at 5:00 in the morning, hoping they could find her in time. After looking everywhere, Jack notices two eyes inside of a tree root hole. He went over to check it, and stuck inside was their dog Teazle. He told his partner and dad to help him get her out.
When they went over to the tree root, they tried lifting it, but it was too heavy. Andrew then thought of using a handsaw for the job and rushed back home to get some. Together, they cut their way through the tree root while Emma covered Teazle’s head for protection and was able to free Teazle under 45 minutes.
Teazle’s family brought her back home, and Clare couldn’t be any happier that her beloved pup was found safe. While the incident traumatized Teazle, she was able to be her old playful self in a matter of days and started to chase squirrels again.
