Countless dogs are still suffering today in the hands of abusive and neglectful people. Many of these dogs are kept in cages their entire lives, don’t get taken to the vet, and have never known what love feels like. It’s quite sad that many dogs are treated horribly by their owners when all they want is to give love and be loved.
A dog named Journey used to be owned by a neglectful and abusive owner. He never knew what the outside world looked like since he was kept inside a small cage in his first year of life. Journey was kept in a cage outdoors and his owner never even took him to the veterinarian. He was also deaf as a result of an untreated ear infection.
Eventually, the neighbor complained and told animal control that a mean dog was penned up in a yard next door. That was how Journey was brought to the local pound. Journey spent almost two years in the pound, which resulted in him getting a bad case of kennel anxiety.
The volunteers at the pound loved Journey and even spent time with him. However, it’s still not a place for a dog. One of the volunteers at the pound named Nicole was determined to give Journey the life that he deserved. She wanted him to know what it feels like to be a part of a family.
To prevent him from getting euthanized, Nicole decided to foster Journey. She wanted Journey to smile and experience what life is all about. Ever since Nicole took Journey home, she has been working aggressively to get Journey adopted.
To help Journey get adopted, Nicole exposed him to a lot of good things. Journey loves to run around at the park and meet other dogs. He also loves snuggling with Nicole. She even got a trainer for Journey.
Despite being deaf, Journey knows basic hand signal commands. Everything about Journey screams love. He just needs a forever home and a real family. Nicole and her family did so much to change Journey’s life. Now, he’s finally ready to move on and find a forever home. Here’s a video about Journey and how his foster mom taught him about happiness.
