Ranger is not a normal German Shepherd. He is adorable and small, and he will always be adorable and small. He was born with the rare genetic disease known as pituitary dwarfism. Some people who are familiar with his story assert that the adorable dog accidentally discovered the fountain of youth.
When a person has pituitary dwarfism, their pituitary glands are incapable of producing an adequate amount of growth hormones. This also happened to Ranger; that is why he is significantly smaller than other German Shepherds his age. Additionally, he appears to be only a few months old.
Due to a deficiency in growth hormones, his legs are shorter than usual. He also has a longer physique than most German Shepherds, and his hair growth is inadequate.
When Ranger was adopted by his fur parents, they instantly noted his unique physical characteristics. Fortunately for Ranger, his parents still loved him despite that.
Ranger had to undergo treatment for an illness and two types of parasites months after his adoption. After doing additional testing, the veterinarian informed Ranger’s parents that his hereditary disease might be to blame for the troubles.
Ranger’s appearance is undeniably charming, but he suffers from a significant medical problem. According to studies, the genetic abnormality that causes dwarfism in dogs results in a variety of ailments. Ranger’s thyroid difficulties have already caused him to lose not only his appetite but also the majority of his hair.
Thankfully, Ranger’s parents are responsive to and supportive of his demands. He is presently doing well, regaining his energy, and his hair is beginning to grow back. Ranger spends the majority of his time playing with his two sisters, a German Shepherd named Jessie and a Labrador Retriever named Hazel.
Ranger is living a happy life with a family who has accepted him for who he is.
