Hope for Paws is a non-profit rescue and charity organization located in Los Angeles, California. They save and rescue animals that are in dire need of help. Whether it’s a street puppy or an adult dog stuck in the middle of the woods, the rescue team will surely be there to lend a helping hand.
Founded in June 2008, Hope for Paws recently celebrated their 11th anniversary. And what’s a more meaningful way of celebrating than rescuing animals in need? And that’s precisely what happened.
In time for the rescue’s celebration, they received a call coming from a family requesting for help. Staffers were told that a pregnant Chihuahua wandered off into their backyard and later on gave birth to 9 adorable puppies.
JoAnn Wiltz and Loreta Frankonyte responded to the call and rushed to the address provided. There, they met a tiny black Chihuahua, which they later on named Godiva, and her 9 babies.
It was a scorching hot day, and Godiva kept moving her babies under the house. Thankfully, the homeowners were kind enough to care for them and take them back out for sanitary and safety reasons.
When JoAnn and Loreta arrived at the family’s residence, Godiva was initially a bit scared. She was barking at them, probably trying to protect her puppies. But it didn’t take long, and she realized that the two women meant her and her babies no harm.
Godiva’s tail started wagging. Later on, she allowed her new friends to hold her puppies. The rescuers loaded the little family into their car and took them straight to the vet, where they were declared in good health.
Hope for Paws, in partnership with PAL Rescue, sent the little furry into their foster home. Godiva and her babies, Charbonnel, Ferrero, Roche, Maison, Toblerone, Lindt, Truffle, and Mariebelle, will be staying under foster care until they are all ready to find their forever families.
