A dog was found near the parking lot of a shopping mall in South Carolina. Someone left the dog there tied up with a note. The dog was a six-year-old mix breed Terrier. There was a couple who found Scooter. The story of the dog went viral. Paula Langford, the owner of South Eastern Homeless Animals, brought him in her custody.
Paula realized that Scooter was taken care well by his owner. Scooter looked clean and free of fleas. He also had a fancy tag, carrying case, and dog food. When Paula took him, Scooter was very relaxed with her. He felt that he was safe. He was sweet and loving to Paula. He always hugged her too.
Paula didn’t stop to find Scooter’s family. She discovered that he had been in a dog shelter and returned to the owner a few times. She also found out that Scooter’s owner was arrested in Walmart parking lot.
Before he went to jail, he entrusted Scooter to his friends. He assured that he wouldn’t go to a dog shelter. He even provided the dog belongings, money, and dog food. Unfortunately, his friends still abandoned Scooter. Paula took care of Scooter for a while until she found the owner’s mother. She lived in Colorado, and they both agreed to meet. The owner’s mother decided to take Scooter.
She went to Nebraska to bring him back to his family. Paula believed that they treated Scooter very well. She knew that they were loving and caring.
Paula managed to drive all over to Nebraska just to meet the owner’s mother. She handed over Scooter to her. She felt relieved because Scooter and his family were finally reunited. She knew that she made the right decision because he was happy when he saw them.
There was no doubt that the owner really loved Scooter. It was sad to know that there were people who could abandon a dog in the middle of nowhere. Thanks to Paula, Scooter was brought back to where he belongs. Her dedication to helping dogs was really inspiring!
