Bernese Mountain Dogs are mostly recognized for their high intelligence and friendly disposition. They love being around their favorite persons and would do anything to keep them protected and well-loved. For Jessie Klorman, her pooch, Dodger, is exactly like that and more.
When Jessie was pregnant with her baby boy, Dodger was always on guard duty. It was as if the pooch was aware of his mom’s pregnancy and wanted to help her best he can. He was obviously looking forward to a new playmate, and he frequently cuddles up next to Jessie’s belly.
After a few months of waiting, Everett was finally born. But since he arrived several weeks early, he had to stay a little while longer in the hospital until he is stable. During this seemingly long wait, Dodger was patiently waiting back home.
He knew that he would be welcoming a baby brother soon, and his eagerness showed much more each day. When Everett was finally brought home, Dodger was more eager to show him some love. He would always stay close to the baby and watch him sleep.
A year after and Everett has grown to be a healthy, bouncy boy. Of course, Dodger was present throughout his early months, always helping when needed and keeping the baby safe. This made their relationship stronger than ever.
In fact, they are now so close that they already have a routine every time Everett takes a nap. The pooch would typically be seen close to the baby’s crib as if making sure no harm comes to him as he sleeps. He would then greet the baby with a playful kiss when Everett wakes up.
Their adorable routine was recently documented and uploaded on Facebook. As expected, it immediately went viral with over 200,000 views to date. Watch their precious wake up routine here.
