Stephan, a stray pooch, wandered in the middle of a highway when the Sidewalk Specials’ volunteers saw him. The volunteers thought that the pooch was in good condition, but they found out that the pooch got hit by a car after they inspected him. This was apparent because Stephan found it hard to move.
When the volunteers realized that the dog needed help, they did not think twice and immediately rescued the pooch. The volunteers brought the pooch to a nearby veterinarian so that the dog’s wounds could be treated. After this, the volunteers decided to bring the pooch to their shelter.
At the shelter, the volunteers discovered that the pooch was sweet. The volunteers said this because unlike other dogs they rescued, the pooch was not hostile to them. Instead, Stephan seemed to trust the volunteers and never showed any signs of aggression.
The dog’s wounds were still fresh when he arrived at the shelter. This is why the volunteers kept an eye on the pooch. They knew that Stephan needed special care, so they provided the pooch with such care.
The volunteers built a good rapport with Stephan as they monitored the dog’s healing progress. The volunteers then thought it would be best that a loving home adopts Stephan.
It was a long shot, but the volunteers tried their best to look for a potential adopter for Stephan. But before they do this, the volunteers focused on the dog’s recovery. They know that it would be hard for the pooch to get adopted if the adopter learns that the dog is injured.
After three months of medication, Stephan’s condition improved. This is the perfect time the volunteers have been waiting for to look for an adopter for Stephan. The volunteers are confident that a loving home is waiting for Stephan.
