Bethany is a lovely woman who saved a sick raccoon she named June. A year later, she adopted a rescue dog named Waffles. Bethany had no idea that June and Waffles would become the best of friends.
June was discovered by Bethany at the base of an oak tree in her backyard. She believed that June had fallen off the tree by mistake, so she took the raccoon in.
Bethany gave June a warm bath because she was covered in tree bark and insects. She also decided to allow June to spend the night at her place so that it would remain warm.
The following day, Bethany took June outdoors and learned that June’s mother had been struck by a car. Then, the woman decided to rehabilitate June and return her to the wild.
After several weeks in foster care, June was in excellent health. As a result of Bethany’s decision to adopt June, her rehabilitation and release plan did not go as planned.
A year later, Bethany encountered Waffles while visiting an animal shelter. Bethany wanted to adopt Waffles because he was so sweet and friendly, prompting her to consider adopting him.
Bethany was anxious about June’s potential reaction to her new brother while she was on the trip home with Waffles. She intended to keep Waffles on his leash and allow him to sniff June, but Waffles had other ideas.
Waffles quickly ran towards June and began playing with her upon seeing her. June was initially hesitant but gradually grew fond of her new sibling.
Soon thereafter, Waffles and June became inseparable best friends. Wherever June went, Waffles followed closely behind. The couple delighted in engaging in mischief, such as peeking into cabinets and tearing up paper towels.
Bethany adored the odd couple and could not believe a raccoon and a dog could have such a wonderful friendship. She was appreciative to have such a friendship inside her home and is delighted to have played a role in it.
