For every boy, the bond he shares with his four-legged best friend is special. Almost all the time, a boy would grab every chance he gets to play with or even just sit next to his dog. Boys often spend most of their free time with their furry little best friend.
For a boy named Carter, however, the bond he shares with his pug is extra special. Carter spent his baby years around another pug, Oliver, which he loved very much. But due to health concerns within the family, Oliver had to be sent away to live with another family.
Losing a precious member of the family
Since then, Carter had wanted to own a black pug. And for his 12th birthday, he was given just that. Carter’s family named the puppy Piper. And from that moment on, Carter and his family loved Piper and treated her like family.
On November 18, 2019, however, the unthinkable happened: Piper was let out to poop but did not return when she was called. The incident devastated Carter and his entire family. They exhausted all efforts to find their black puppy pug—posting on social media, talking to neighbors, getting in touch with community groups, and even reaching out to news venues.
An unexpected reunion
As days passed by, Carter and his family started losing hope. Carter and his sister Natalie started thinking that they would never see their beloved puppy again. Luckily for them, their mother received a message on December 2, telling her that a pug matching Piper’s description was taken to GenesseCounty AnimalShelter.
Since Carter and Natalie were out of town then, her mom confirmed the news without them. And when she saw that the black puppy pug was indeed Piper, she thought she’d give Carter a pleasant surprise. When she picked Carter up from school, she brought Piper with her. What followed was a very heartwarming reunion between Carter and his four-legged best friend.
