Rescuing a stray dog can be scary. Many of these dogs have no trust in humans and may become aggressive if they feel threatened. This is why animal rescuers are among the most courageous and unselfish individuals around.
A group of brave animal rescuers that was led by a woman named Hanah Hueston noticed a dog named Ace. The dog was trembling in terror and from the cold. He was also surrounded by humans he did not know, and he did not understand what was happening.
Ace seemed disoriented and unsure of where to go. Hanah and her fellow volunteers were aware that Ace could bite them if they pushed him too hard, so she opted to move slowly and gain his trust first.
It was a very chilly day, and Ace’s nose had already begun to develop frostbite. Hanah began tossing biscuits and other dog treats at Ace in an effort to earn his trust. The rescuers were eventually able to place a leash around Ace’s collar.
They continued to spend time with Ace and provided him with additional treats. When the rescuers finally convinced Ace to walk to the car, he quickly understood what was happening and stepped inside.
When Hanah returned Ace to the animal shelter, Ace shut down once more. He was quite hesitant to enter the animal shelter. Hanah chose to keep Ace in her office in order to help him unwind, which will help in gaining his trust.
A few days prior to his discovery, Ace was posted on one of the animal shelter’s social media pages dedicated to lost dogs. So when he was found, the animal shelter notified Ace’s family, who arrived at the facility immediately.
When Ace spotted his family, his eyes lit up and he immediately lost his fear. He could not stop wagging his tail. Ace is finally back where he belongs, thanks to Hanah and her other rescuers.
