A lot of dogs can do a lot of amazing stuff that some end up becoming heroes. Canines have so much talent and skill that goes beyond typical commands and tricks. They always do more than what is expected of them to show their hoomans how much they love them.
So when Christie Smith first adopted a rescue dog, she didn’t expect the pooch to show an unbelievable skill that will save her four-year-old son named Peyton Anderson. The Pitbull was named Tater Tot and instantly became best friends with Christie’s son.
Although they haven’t been together for a long time, it was like they knew each other for years. Peyton loved spending time playing outside their house especially when Tater Tot comes along with them. It was also obvious that the doggo loved his tiny hooman too.
And then the time came when Tater Tot showed how much he loved Peyton. The pooch woke Christie up in the middle of the night. He seemed restless and couldn’t stop barking and whining as he led Christie to Peyton who was sleeping. Tater Tot also kept jumping around and licking Peyton’s face.
Christie got worried because the doggo would not stop pacing back and forth so she decided to check on her son. To her shock, she found Peyton was barely breathing. Christie then rushed her son to the emergency room of the nearest hospital.
The doctors did a lot of tests on Peyton to find out what was wrong and as it turned out, his blood sugar levels were dangerously low and seemed like he had been producing ketones. But thanks to Christie’s quick response, they were able to save the young boy.
All of this wouldn’t be possible if it weren’t for Tater Tot who knew that something was wrong with Peyton and immediately warned Christie. The doggo could have noticed the changes that were going on in the boy’s body thanks to his sharp sense of smell.
A lot of things could really have gone wrong if Tater Tot wasn’t there for Peyton. But because of this amazing pooch, Peyton is still able to run and play around just like any other kid. For this family, Tater Tot had become their hero.
