A concerned citizen reached out to the animal rescue group “Hope For Paws” to inform them about Leslie, an injured dog living on the streets. So the organization dispatched a team to investigate and save the said pup. When they arrived at the location, they saw Leslie hiding under a parked vehicle on the road.
The rescuers started luring the pooch to them by feeding her some treats to make her comfortable with their presence. But Leslie wasn’t sure if she could trust them, so she took off away from them. The team followed her and saw that Leslie sought refuge in the family who took care of her, making it easier for them to catch her.
They pushed Leslie back into the family’s enclosed yard and asked one of the kids to help them leash her. Good thing that the pup didn’t have a problem with the kid tying her up, so they managed to do it in no time. After securing Leslie’s leash, the rescuers put her in a cage and transported her to their home.
The team bathed Leslie and afterward got her injured leg checked-up. Results showed that she had an old fracture on her left hind hock, and she had to take multiple surgeries to heal correctly. After a year of recovery, the rescuers found the pup a wonderful mom who was willing to adopt her and take care of her.
It’s so heartwarming that there are people who volunteer themselves to help dogs in need like Leslie. Stories like this show us that even though homeless pups lived their whole lives on the streets, they can still be a good companion for us and deserve our love.
