Having celebrity status is perhaps one of the top goals that people would like to have. Many of us aren’t destined for that kind of life, but it’s truly a game-changer once a person achieves it. Money will start to flow in, and companies will come knocking with endorsement deals.
Apparently, the perks of being a celebrity aren’t exclusive to us humans. Even our doggos who have achieved celebrity status can cut deals with big companies, just like what this surfing doggo from Gold Coast, Queensland, had done recently.
This cool canine is Porkchops. The British Bulldog had been riding the waves at the beaches of Gold Coast, and his surfing skills had made him a superstar. Porkchops’ owner, Sam Rollinson, brought him to the beach one day when the doggo decided to jump onto his surfboard.
Seeing how eager Porkchops was, Sam then decided to take him on a short ride. The dog dad was surprised at how naturally skilled his pupper was at riding the waves. He explained that he didn’t need to tell Porkchops what to do. The pooch knew when to move up or down the surfboard to maintain his balance.
Obviously, a surfing doggo is not a common thing to see. So Porkchops had become a local celebrity among the beachgoers of Gold Coast. And recently, a local dog food company called Ipromea decided to cut a lucrative deal with the pooch and his dad. Tony Davis, a representative from Ipromea, explained that Porkchops is an icon in the city, so this sponsorship deal was bound to happen.
Also, this isn’t Porkchops’ first endorsement deal. The pupper is actually a brand ambassador of Go Ride A Wave Surf School. It seems that this bulldog is destined for superstardom. We just hope that despite all the success, he would still find the time to do what he loves, which is surfing.
