When dogs are fascinated by someone or something, they often try to get close to it frequently. Unlike us, dogs are not reluctant to approach anyone they like or are interested in. As such, great stories and experiences can often arise from a dog’s eagerness to socialize.
Gom is a border collie who incessantly barks and tries to get the attention of a horse named Charles. The horse is a retired racing horse who now lives in his owner’s backyard. Together, the two of them have a wholesome and entertaining dynamic.
While most people would say that a dog annoying a horse is dangerous, that is not the case for Gom and Charles. The horse is tolerant and calm no matter how much Gom barks at him. The dog can safely stand behind the horse without fear of getting kicked.
Gom’s fascination with Charles leads to hilarious interactions. For example, the dog would often copy whatever the horse was doing. Gom even tried to eat food intended for Charles but ended up disliking it. Still, the dog never ceases to be nearby Charles, even if the owner himself tries to separate them.
Since Charles is an old horse, he constantly has to go to an animal hospital for regular health checkups. During such times, Gom would lounge around and feel lonely. The dog’s mood would only get back up when Charles returned to the owner’s home.
Sometimes Gom would try and race Charles on the open road. Of course, given their difference in size, the outcome would always be the same. Every time, Gom gets left behind, gasping for air. Regardless, this doesn’t change how the dog interacts with the horse.
Gom’s fascination and love for Charles is something the owner will never get tired of seeing. He is sure that the horse appreciates the dog’s presence, even if it’s sometimes annoying. Nevertheless, the owner ensures that both animals respect each other’s boundaries.
