It’s always amazing to see injured dogs recover and regain their vitality. It’s also equally amazing to see people who are passionate about taking care of injured dogs. This is the reason stories like the following are told and retold.
Tony was an injured dog who was transferred from an animal shelter to a rescuer named Nicole. He had to get immediate medical attention. He was given a splint during an initial visit, but it was a temporary fix until he could get surgery.
Eventually, Tony had undergone successful surgery and had gotten a new cast. Adding to the good news, the vet tech named Stephanie volunteered to be Tony’s foster parent. She was one of the vets who handled his surgery.
Stephanie has another dog named Anya. When Tony first arrived at her house, he immediately played with Anya’s toys. When the two dogs met, they instantly connected like brother and sister. Their favorite pastime activity is a tug of war.
Tony’s leg was healing at a steady rate. Eventually, he was finally able to take his cast off. His leg recovering wasn’t the only good thing that happened to him. Stephanie and her husband also decided to permanently take Tony under their care.
Stephanie made a call to Nicole so they can arrange the paperwork. She was nervous, but Nicole reassured her that she made a great choice. Failing a foster care is one of the only failures that’s worth celebrating.
Stephanie and Nicole met up at a park to finalize the adoption details. Tony also had the chance to meet his rescuer again. Nicole was happy that he seemed to recognize her.
After Stephanie finished signing the paperwork, she allowed Tony to run around the park. Anya was there with him, running alongside him. It was the first time that Tony was able to run around without a cast.
