Aria Keilbach, the founder of Boonie Babies Saipan, noticed a skinny dog tied up inside an empty house. When she walked toward her, she discovered three newborn puppies inside a cardboard box sitting right next to her. There was no way she’d leave them behind so she untied the mama dog and walked the family into her car.
The mama dog, named Bella, later on, was incredibly friendly. She didn’t bark at her rescuer at all and wagged her tail instead. She was so happy that someone finally came to help.
Two of the puppies were so ill, and sadly, they didn’t make it through the night. The remaining one, Luka, however, pulled through. He was a brave little guy and he fought for his life. And before long, his foster mom found him a forever family.
Bella, on the other hand, was really in a horrible state. She only weighed 29 pounds at the time of her rescue. She starved. And while she trusted her foster mom, she was very wary of everyone around her.
Aria nurtured Bella back to health by giving her protein-packed food. The dog’s recovery was a very long process but by the second week since her rescue, she started to put on weight. Her coat got brighter, and she was happier. She demanded cuddles all the time, too.
To help the dog overcome her fears, Aria decided to introduce Bella to one of their dogs. To her surprise, they just clicked and took to one another right away. They didn’t bark and became friends almost instantly.
The rescuer was so happy to see the dog come out of her shell. She took her to the beach and tagged her along on hikes. She knew she was ready for a new beginning.
Bella blossomed into the dog she was meant to be, and there was no doubt she’d find a great home. And during one of their trips to the beach, she met a lovely family. She liked them and they adored her. There were no questions asked, she was theirs.
