Violet’s story would encourage you to overcome your personal obstacles no matter how impossible they might seem.
Someone left a Cocker Spaniel named Violet at a kill shelter because she could not walk. The neglect was very evident. She was very thin and her bottom was covered in sores, callouses, and urine burns. A nonprofit rescue organization in Los Angeles, California called Camp Cocker Rescue saved Violet from the kill shelter.
When Violet’s MRI results came in, they found out that she had permanent spinal cord damage. Her prognosis was not good. There was a huge possibility that she might not be able to use her back legs again.
However, the staff at Camp Cocker Rescue was determined to do everything to rehabilitate her. She spent months of daily physical therapy at Two Hands Four Paws located in Los Angeles. A physical therapist named Nami worked with Violet to help regain her mobility. She went through water therapy and used a treadmill and a special harness.
Everyone who worked with Violet saw that there was a remarkable improvement in her mobility. She was so happy to find out she could walk that she was raring to go. They made a special wheelchair for her so that she could run again. She loved running after bunnies and birds.
Violet had a friendly personality and a hardworking attitude that Nami had grown attached to her during the time they spent together in therapy sessions. She ended up adopting Violet and took her home to her other dog and a cat.
Violet enjoyed hiking and exploring canyons with her human parents and dog sister named Crispy. They would also watch the sunset by the beach. She was living her best life. Her family loved her and she knew that she would never be abandoned again.
